1. True Social Metrics

If I only had to choose one Social Media Analytics tool, it would be True Social Metrics. It comes with a whole slew of sites: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, even Pinterest.

It’s a very simple to use tool with an easy to use table interface that measures things that you can improve: conversation rate (comments per post), amplification rate (re-tweets per post), applause rate (favorites per post), and economic value (value per visitor). Oh did I mention it was also endorsed by Avinash?

2. Booshaka!

BOOSHAKA! Booshaka’s free version gives you Facebook Timeline App, Facebook Leaderboard, Activity Box, Achievements Feed. It gives you insight into what else your fans like, who are your top fans, and connect with other communities.

3. EdgeRank Checker

One of our clients wanted us to use this and I can definitely see why. It’s like TweetStats but for facebook, it gives you a nice graph so you can see when the best time to post is, how many comments you got, when you got the most impressions, and how you compare with other people in the same industry. They run on an algorithm that takes into account affinity, weight and time decay. Great if you want a basic overview of your business’ Facebook page.

4. Open Status Search

This is a privacy nightmare, but it can be great if you just want to check in on how your brand or your industry is being mentioned on the web. It indexes statuses of Facebook without having you to log in, so this is great if you want to see timely content related to your industry.

5. Sprout Social

SproutSocial is a great analytics tool that churns out pretty reports!! It breaks down your Facebook or Twitter page by increments of 30, 60, and 90 days and shows you the demographics by age and gender. It’s definitely a fun tool and one of the founders personally sent cupcakes to the staff of SEOMoz. If that’s not customer service I don’t know what is.

So there you have it, 5 free Facebook Analytics tool that can help your business. What are the analytics tools that you use for social media?
